It's Not Too Late: Stay Tuned To Win An Iceman Entry!
August. The weather is perfect and the riding in just about perfect. Many of the big events of summer are behind us, but one of the very biggest is coming up quick. Get ready...November is coming!
This fall is the 30th edition of the Bell’s Iceman Cometh Challenge, the nation’s largest point-to-point mountain bike race comes to northern Michigan. Over five thousand riders will make the annual pilgrimage from Kalkaska to Traverse City, tackling nearly two thousand feet of elevation, technical singletrack, and some wide-open two tracks, too. From every corner of the country, riders make the trek to Traverse City for a chance to experience a bucket list race and test themselves against the elements.
You might be one of them.
This year, the Iceman Cometh Challenge sold out a full month earlier than in 2018, which means there are plenty of riders who missed out. This year, we’re excited to offer one lucky entry to the 2019 edition of the race! How do you get in to the biggest party of autumn? You need to keep your eyes on CyclingLawer.com’s social channels! We’ll have information on how YOU can win a spot in Iceman and toe the line with all your pals on Saturday, November 2.
If you don’t want to wait for the competition, you can look for a transfer into the race. $20 of each transfer goes to support two great youth cycling organizations. In Grand Rapids, the Dirt Dawgs now have nearly 350 kids involved in weekly group rides and even a few races! In Traverse City, Norte Youth Cycling has brought cycling to new communities, offered in-school and after school programs, a massive youth mountain bike team, and a new level of advocacy to support cycling and non-motorized infrastructure to the community.
Stay tuned for info on how to win a spot into the 2019 race, and get training!
