What We're Thankful For
It seems like yesterday we were anxiously awaiting November, with Iceman looming large on the calendar. At times, it’s a month that feels so long away that, inevitably, it surprises us all in not just arriving, but flying by.
As this month comes to a close, we have an opportunity to slow down, stop, and reflect on the people, places, and things we’re thankful for. There are so many aspects of daily life that we take for granted. It usually takes just a casual skim of the news to remind ourselves that our shelter, our food, our rights, and our safety aren’t guaranteed. Every time you worry about bicycles, remember that even something so important to us is almost a second or tertiary joy to be treasured.
In the cycling world, we’re thankful for a lot. First of all, we’re thankful for our clients. In the process of handling a case, we meet people at the very beginning of what is often a painful, frightening, and overwhelming situation. Our first contact is often with a cyclists’ friend of family member, usually as or even before they’ve received care. We’re with these cyclists from Day One, providing comfort, calm, and an unwavering case to protect your rights. That’s a relationship that brings us close; our clients are quickly friends, often for life.
We’re also thankful for the organizations that support cyclists. From League of Michigan Bicyclists to more local, youth-focused groups like Norte and the Grand Rapids Dirt Dawgs, these organizations bring awareness, knowledge, and empowerment to riders and communities. This is how we make cycling safer, more accessible, and more viable for individuals and families who embrace bikes for transportation, independence, and recreation.
Finally, we want to thank the countless cycling clubs and events that keep our cycling community engaged. From small weekly rides to annual races like the Bell’s Iceman Cometh Challenge and the Barry-Roubaix, both competitive and fun-paced events are what keep us connected. By keeping all types of riders engaged, bringing personalities and interests together, and always making great memories, we attract more and more riders to the cause.
From Chuck and everyone involved at CyclingLaywer.com, have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Wishing you safe travels, delicious food, and just a bit of time to fit in a bike ride...enjoy the holiday!
